OUR STORY

Our story is one of resilience, empowerment, and triumph over adversity. It begins with an African American woman who, against all odds, successfully navigated the challenges of single motherhood while dedicating herself to a 33-year career in federal service.  Through her unwavering determination and commitment, she shattered barriers and became an inspiring role model for others.

 

Her son, once a troubled youth, found his own path to success.  With the support and guidance of his mother, he overcame obstacles and earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling.  Today, he has chosen to give back to his community as a High School Counselor, using his personal experiences to inspire and guide students on their journeys of self-discovery and growth.

 

Alongside them stand a longtime friend who also faced his fair share of challenges in his youth. With their friendship as a pillar of support, he transformed his life and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with an emphasis on Corporate Management and Entrepreneurship.  Now, he too works in federal service, channeling his passion for service into making a positive impact on the lives of others.

 

Their collective story is one of triumph over adversity, illustrating the transformative power of education, resilience, and the support of a strong community.  Together, they exemplify the potential for growth and success that lies within every individual regardless of their past circumstances.  Their shared commitment to public service and their personal journeys of self-empowerment inspire others to believe in their own potential and work towards a brighter-future.

 

As they continue their respective paths, their story serves as a testament to the transformative power of education, perseverance, and friendship.  Through their accomplishments and dedication, they demonstrate that anyone can overcome adversity, achieve their dreams, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.  Their journey is a testament to the importance of investing in individuals, providing opportunities for personal growth, and building a supportive and inclusive society for all.  This inspired us to create Leaders of Next Foundation.
